I am truly sorry and grateful for your presence in our lives. You always had a way to make us smile.

Dad, you taught me how to be strong and to always take care of our family. It breaks my heart that I cannot be strong for you right now. I wish we could’ve had more time together and I wish you could’ve tried my cooking that I’ve been practicing. I know you would’ve loved it. I hope you’re proud of me and you can see my apartment from up there. Don’t worry about anything dad, I’ll make sure to take good care of mom and my brothers. I love you so much and I will miss you every single day, until we meet again. I will always be your daughter and I will cherish my name forever because it gives me a piece of you. 🤍🌊

Life without you will never be the same. The world took you away too soon. I still had so much to ask and learn from you. Though I will forever cherish the moments I did have with you. The father and son fishing trips. The constant times I’d need your help with maintenance on my car. The time I popped the tire in the middle of the night in Washington and you lecture me throughout the whole process. All the times we’d go out looking for cool animals to catch as a kid. All of the BBQs we cooked together for the family. The one on one  deep talks we’d have when you’d cut my hair growing up. These moments will forever remind me of the precious time I had with you. It’s still surreal to think you’re gone. I hope I can continue to make you proud till the day we meet again. You were an incredible father. I love you so much Dad even though we weren’t really good at showing it. Thank you for being the best Dad I could ask for.

My fondest memory of Shawn was he was always there to help, with whatever the task was at that moment. Always a kind soul and happy. While I stayed with my cousin for sometime, Shawn wouldn’t hear about me getting my oil changed at the shop. He insisted he do it himself. I’m truly grateful for the years he’s made my cousin happy and created a beautiful family together. Shawn you will be missed dearly.

I think I will ask God “why?” For the rest of my life and never will I come to understand it. Even if God Himself came in front of me and told me the reason I don’t think I would accept it. Some loves are too hard to bear and with great love comes great pain and with great loss comes the greatest pain of all. If love could have  saved you. You would have lived forever.
