Sherman Terry

Sherman Terry was born August 12th, 1933 in Kent County, Michigan to Shepard Terry and Genevieve (Tarvis) Terry. Sherman had three sisters, Laurel, Jean, and Joyce. They came to California when he was 12, and lived in Rosemead, he joined the army in 1953 and was released in 1955, then went to IBM school in LA, worked at Occidental Life Insurance Company on 12th and broadway, in LA, where he met Joline Andrews, who was a cashier. They got married on May 12, 1956 and were together for 68 years, they had three boys, Scott, Art, and Jay. Art has three children, Wes, Priscilla and Brian. Jay has two children, Cody and Cassidy. Cassidy has a son, Forest, age 2. Cody has a son, Lennox, almost 2. Priscilla has two girls age 10 & 12. And Brian has a son on the way. Sherm and Joline lived in Azusa, Glendora, Alta Loma, and their remaining 27 years together were spent in Canyon Lake. Sherman passed away August 4th, 2024. He was employed by Occidental, Good Year, Johnson &Johnson, Riverside Medical Clinic, and Medtronic Corporation up until Medtronic moved to Ireland, all the time working with computers. After he retired he worked on the marine patrol in Canyon Lake. One of the boaters he gave a citation to was Keifer Sutherland, Joline told Sherman “no no tear it up” and so he did, Keifer then had Sherman partake in their photo shoot that day. Sherman had a gentle spirit and was loved by all.

A memorial service for Sherman will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 10:30 AM at First Lutheran Church, 600 West Sumner Ave, Lake Elsinore, CA 92530.
