On January 15, 2021 at the age of 70, Alfonso Cresencio Garcia, born July 6, 1950, succumbed to a long, brave battle against Covid 19 while at Mercy Merced Medical Center. At the time of his retirement in 1999, Alfonso had been a loading dock worker and lift operator at Foster Farms for 25 years. Throughout his life, Alfonso was a loving and loyal family man who enjoyed
spending time with his wife of 30+ years, children, and a multitude of grandchildren. He enjoyed working on cars, listening to music, solving puzzles, drinking beer, and collecting and tinkering with a variety of found objects. He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia "Trish" Garcia, children: Pearl Lomeli, Alfonso Lomeli, Anthony Garcia, Andrew Flores Jr., Melina Bond, Odessa
Stanford, Erica Barton, and his siblings: Johnny Garcia, Joe Garcia, Rosa Rocha, Carmen Alonso Granado. Alfonso has 23 grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Teresa V. Garcia, sister Genobeba Rios, and his grandson Andrew Joseph Flores. His service will include a visitation on Friday, January 29th at Stratford Evans Merced
Funeral Home from 2:00 - 5:00pm, and a Merced Cemetery District, graveside service at 1:00pm on Monday February 2nd.
