Angela Roman Gonzales, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, went to be with her Lord on February 5, 2026. Born on October 3, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas, to Benancio and Angela Roman. Angela moved with her parents to Merced County in 1952. She remained a dedicated, lifelong resident of the area, building a life defined by hard work, devotion, and service to others.
Angela was a fixture of the local community and a dedicated employee at the Ragu Cannery, where she worked faithfully for 30 years before her retirement. However, her true calling was found in her faith and her kitchen. A "spiritual warrior" for the Lord, Angela was deeply involved in her church and was well-known for her powerful prayer life. She had a unique gift for hospitality, believing that a warm meal and a sincere prayer could touch any soul. Whether she knew you for a lifetime or had just met you, Angela’s door and heart were always open.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert Roman Gonzales; her brothers, Luis Munoz, Jess Munoz, and Joe Munoz; and her sisters, Luz Subia and Mary Villa.
Her legacy of love continues through her surviving family: her sister, Trudy Huff of Copperopolis, CA; her children, Roman Gonzales, Richelle Minor, and Ronnie Gonzales; and her eleven grandchildren: Jacob Roman, Skyler Cary, Laker Gonzales, Marley Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales, Randi Gonzales, Denise Barela, Rachel Gonzales, Blas Caleb Minor, Pierce Minor, and Rori Minor.
Angela touched countless lives with her kindness and her cooking. She will be deeply missed, but her prayers continue to cover those she loved.
