Barbara Jean Bryant Fergerson

Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Bryant Fergerson, 66, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026. Born & raised in Merced, she attended Merced High School & was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin & friend.

She is survived by her loving husband, Derrick Lynn Fergerson, Sr.; her son, Damien Perry (Suzanne); her grandchildren, Savahn, Aniyah & Eliyanna Perry; De’Avian & Da’Monique Carter; Jamarion Pollard; & her great-grandson, Josiah Carter. She also leaves her siblings, James White, Debra White Williams, Nancy Love McGruder & James Bryant (Virginia), along with many nieces, nephews & friends.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, James Arthur Bryant II & Dorothy Bryant; her daughter, Dimitrez McMurray; & her siblings, Maurice Adams, Darlene White, Ronald White & Carl White, as well as Gary White, Gwendolyn & Evelyn Russell.

Bobbie loved family gatherings, spoiling her grandchildren & great-grandson, enjoying summer days by her brother James’ pool, doing hair, & going out to restaurants. She also loved singing at the top of her lungs songs like “Lift Me Up,” which reminded her of her beloved daughter.

A viewing will be held Friday, February 27, 2026, from 9–10 a.m., with services beginning at 10 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced, California 95341. Interment will follow at Merced District Cemetery, 1300 B Street, Merced, California 95341.
