Betty was born on June 11, 1937 in Dallas Texas. Her family moved to Planada at a very young age. She graduated from LeGrand High School. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Bobby Joe Birdsong Sr. who passed in 2012. They lived a life of adventure together, living in Okinawa, Japan, Maryland, Texas and Nevada before retiring back home where their life began in Merced. They raised two sons together Kenny and Bobby and had 3 grandchildren. They always made time for their family even after raising 2 children they were there for their grandchildren.
Betty was a good hearted person who would help anyone in need whether it be family, friend or stranger. Her kindness will never be forgotten.
In addition to her loving husband, she is preceded in death by her son Kenneth J. Birdsong; her parents, Floyd and Anna Stanley; her brothers, Roy O. and Floyd Wayne Stanley. She is survived by her son Bobby J. Birdsong and her three grandchildren, Christopher Birdsong, Kimberly (Birdsong) Gottschling and Bobby Birdsong III; her sisters, Darlene (Stanley) Burnett and Juanita (Stanley) Morris.
She lived her life serving the Lord and was known to give Bibles away to many that would cross her path. Services will be held for Betty on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 10:00 am at Plainsburg Cemetery, 8943 Gillette Ave., Merced, California.
