Concepcion “Concha” Norzagaray Alonzo was born on January 15, 1937 to Julio and Julia Norzagaray in Opodepe, Sonora, Mexico. She was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Augustine “Boogie” Alonzo on July 24, 2016.
“Concha” as most people knew her was a gifted seamstress. Her love of sewing could be seen in the clothes she custom made for her family and friends. She loved to design and make dresses for entire bridal parties, proms, communions, pageants, quinceaneras and many other special events. She enjoyed being a part of many special moments in people's lives who she sewed for. Concha won many first prize ribbons for her talented work at the Merced County Fair. She also had the ability to make and sew clothes without a pattern. Concha will be most remembered for her love of sewing.
Concha was devoted in helping raise and care for her seven grandchildren, which she was affectionately known by them as “Grammy”. Her love of cooking would always bring the family together. It was her way of giving herself to them. She fought a long term health battle with grace & dignity at the end of her life and was healed for all eternity once in Heaven. John 4:14 says "But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst again".
Concha was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Boogie Alonzo; parents, Julio and Julia Norzagaray; brothers, Armando and Eduardo Norzagaray. She is survived by her three children, Miguel Alonzo, Blanca Alonzo and Angie Alonzo-Ruiz (Alex); sisters, Mila Norzagaray Booth, Rosalina Norzagaray Carrillo and Maria Elena Norzagaray; brother, Miguel Norzagaray; grandchildren, Joel Guerra (Alexandra), Pino Virgen, Michael Alonzo, Stephanie Millan, Whitney Amber Derr, Alexia Ruiz and Eli Ruiz; numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
