Cornell graduated from Merced High School in 1978 and went directly into the work force. He worked at many places. He was a “Jack of all trades” as a construction worker, landscaper, graphic designer and applicator.
He loved fishing, the outdoors and the challenges of building and creating. He had a large compassion for dogs. If it were his choice, he would have brought home every stray dog. He is now in the company of his 4-legged companions, Lady and Bella.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his parents, Cornelio A. and Virginia Minor. His brother, Chris (Maria) Minor and his sister, Cynthia (Anthony) Pruneda, and his stepdaughter, Ruth (Cookie) Her. Also surviving Cornell are his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Cornell had a gentle soul. He was a devoted son, brother and uncle. He will be missed by all.
A funeral mass will occur on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Merced, Ca, with a rosary recited at 8:30 am and a mass following at 9:00 am. Graveside will be private.
