

David H Rangel, a beloved member of the Sioux Falls Community, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center at the age of 57. His absence leaves a profound void in the lives of many who knew and loved him.
Born on June 11,1967, in Fowler, Fresno County, California to Severino and Mary (Hernandez) Rangel, David was the twelfth of thirteen children. He graduated from Tranquility Union High School in 1986, embarking on a life dedicated to faith and service.
On August 13, 1988 David married his soulmate, Estella Garza, at the New Life Apostolic church in Merced California. Together they created a loving home in Merced. They raised two wonderful children, Dinorah and David "DJ" Jr.
In 1989, answering the call to serve, David became a minister through the Apostolic Community Organization under the guidance of Joe Aguilar, Senior Pastor of New Life Apostolic Church. His heartfelt dedication led him to serve as the senior pastor of New Life Community Church in Dos Palos, where he touched countless lives over nine years.
In 2011, David and his family moved to Sioux Falls to support his brother Isaiah in his church ministry. Sadly after a year, David faced significant health challenges. His journey included starting dialysis in 2012 and experiencing vision loss in 2020. Despite these trials David's spirit remained uplifting, and he bravely took on the challenge of learning Braille.
Those who knew David cherished his deep spiritual connection with God.His life was a testament to his faith,and hie passions included praising the Lord, teaching, preaching, and providing compassionate marital counseling. He also found joy in singing and spending precious moments with his family.
David leaves behind his loving wife, Estella, who was his partner and confidante; his two devoted children Dinorah (Jayvon) Younger of Sioux Falls and David "DJ" Rangel of Hastings Nebraska; and his five dear grandchildren, Zion,Zedekiah, Zoltin, Zamar and Zacardi, who brought him immense joy. Also mourning his loss are his ten siblings: Severino (Joan) Rangel Jr. of Merced Ca. Mary Ortiz of Merced Ca;Mary Alice (Artemio) Lugo of Mendota Ca. Rosi (Sarge) Ruiz of Merced Ca.; Frances Leon of Dallas Texas; Jess Rangel of Merced Ca.; Janie R. Granados of Merced Ca; Richard (Mary) Rangel of Dos Palos, Ca; Esther Rangel of Merced Ca; and Isaiah Rangel of Merced Ca. Along with numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and one uncle Hector Hernandez from Fresno Ca; who were touched by his kindness and love.
David is now reunited with his parents,Severino Sr. and Mary Rangel; his brother Sammy Rangel and his sister Esther Elizabeth Rangel all of whom he missed dearly.
Funeral services will be held in Merced, California where his family and friends can honor his memory. He will be laid to rest at Dos Palos Cemetery. A Celebration of life will also occur later in Sioux Falls, allowing the community to come together to remember a remarkable man who made a lasting impact on everyone around him.
A funeral service for David will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM New Life Apostolic Church 2427 E Santa Fe Ave, Merced, CA 95340. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM at Dos Palos X Apostolic Church, 8336 Christian Ave Dos Palos, CA 93620. A graveside service will follow at Dos Palos Cemetery 1800 Elgin Ave, Dos Palos, CA 93620.
