

Diego was a very hard working man. He worked as a baker as well as a dump truck owner/operator for 30 years. He then went to work with Foster Farms in the sanitation department for over 25 years. Diego was a family man, there was nothing he loved more in this world than spending time with his family. He loved when the family would get together to eat, listen to music and dance. He took pride in owning a yellow 61 Ford Comet, which was his favorite toy to ride around in.
Diego is preceded in death by his Wife, Guadalupe Salcido of 62 years; parents, Diego and Cruz Salcido; brothers, Paulino, Agustin, Enrique, Pilar and Rito Salcido; sisters, Edwiges Cota and Lucina Salcido; and great grandson, Adrian Ybarra. He is survived by his sons, Diego Salcido Jr. of Fresno, Jose Cruz (Kate) Salcido of Madera Ranchos, Roberto (Josie) Salcido of Fresno, Raymundo (Sara) Salcido of Merced and Rafael (Ellanah) Salcido of Merced; daughters, Socorro Ybarra of Merced, Natalia (Isidro) Salcido-Gomez of Modesto and Soledad Salcido of Merced; brothers, Fernando Salcido, Guillermo Salcido, Rafael Salcido and Salvador Salcido; sister, Elisa Maldonado; 40 grandchildren; 71 great grandchildren and 30 great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 with rosary at 7:00p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home located at 1490 B Street. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 10:00a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 671 East Yosemite Ave.
