Doris Spurlock was born in Oklahoma City, OK on September 17, 1918 and passed away in Merced, CA on November 7, 2012 at the age of 94.
Doris met her late husband C.E. Spurlock in Planada where on June 14, 1938 they were married. They continued living there and on the same corner since 1940. The two of them started several businesses in Planada. Doris was a very hard working lady and was still managing 13 rentals when she became ill on February 28, 2011.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Spurlock; parents, James Roy and Lillie Loughmiller; siblings, John Loughmiller and Frances York; and sons-in-law, Ed Drum and Bud Neely.
She is survived by her children, Janie Drum, Barbara (Verle) Dysart, Charley (Sarah) Spurlock, and Dennis (Brooke) Spurlock; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at Merced District Cemetery, 1300 B St., Merced, CA on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 2:00pm.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
