

Florence T. Serena entered this world October 4, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was called home on the morning of November 15, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco Serena her brother Victor Tijerina, her mother Elida and grandsons Segundo Velasco and Andrew Moreno.
Florence Serena grew up in Buckeye, Arizona and Robstown, Texas. She married the love of her life Francisco Serena February 2, 1957. Florence was a resident of Merced for over 50 years. She spent her early years as a nurse and preschool teacher. She loved being with her family and devoted her life to them. Grandma Serena had a heart of gold and so much love for everyone, no matter who you were. She held very strong religious and family values and throughout her life she held onto and shared her beliefs and passed them down to each of us. Her strong foundation was the glue that kept our family together. Her unexpected passing has left a hole in our hearts that only she can fill. There’s not enough words to explain the love and care she put into her family. To know her was to lover her, and she will be greatly missed by her children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was survived by her brother Jessie Abrigo, her sisters; Orelia Gonzalez and Maria Gonzalez. Her children Victor, Sara, Mary, Patricia, Francisco II, Manuela, Dahlia, Adolpho, Jesus, Jose, Angle, Jessica, Francisco P., Margarita, Florence and Lynda. She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends who loved her dearly.
