It is with great sadness we lost our brother, friend, and companion on May 3, 2017 while being cared for at Mercy Hospital, Merced, California. Gary fought a brave battle with numerous ailments including heart, lung, and weight issues. We will miss his super smile, outgoing personality, and all his fish stories. There was no other place he wanted to be except fishing, camping, sitting around the campfire telling whoppers. He was preceded in death by his father, George M. Rooker, and mother, Irene Rooker(Hanover).
He is survived by his brothers George A. Rooker, Raymond Rooker, and Larry Rooker plus numerous nephews and nieces. Memorial services and burial will be held at Merced District Cemetery located at 1300 B Street Merced, California 95341 beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday June 10, 2017. A reception and light lunch buffet to follow at Stratford Evans Reception Hall located at 1490 B Street Merced, California 95341. In lieu of floral arrangements please make contributions to your favorite charity I Gary’s name.
