James Frank Johnson Sr.

Daddy enjoyed playing baseball, pool and fishing with family and friends. He loved talking about boxing and was known as “1 Punch”. In Daddy’s down time he loved watching western movies.

James confessed his hope in Christ and was a member of the Christ of Holyness Church.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Kattie and Curtis Pulliam; daughter, Jacqueline Johnson; sisters, Marget, Lucy and Florine; and brother, Oscar Pulliam.

He leaves to cherish his memory children, Kattie Johnson (Oakland, CA), Diane Johnson (Stockton, CA), James Johnson Jr. (Twain Heart, CA), Jerry Johnson (Merced, CA), Vincent, Renee Johnson-Andrews and Michael Johnson (both of Fresno, CA); brothers, Curtis Pulliam Jr (Los Angeles, CA) and William Pulliam (Merced, CA); sisters, Debra Pulliam and Lorine Sykes; 36 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A Wake will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B St., Merced, CA 95341 on May 23, 2014 at 10:00am followed with Funeral Service at 12:00pm. Interment will follow services at Merced District Cemetery.
