Joe E. Covington, 76, passed away of natural causes on March 6, 2022 in Newman, California. Joe was born in Merced, California, on January 11, 1946 to Clyde “Red" Covington and Mary Brock Covington. He graduated from Merced High School in 1963 and then joined the United States Air Force. Following his military service, Joe began a career with the State of California and lived in the Bay Area for several decades, moving to Newman 4 years ago.
Joe is survived by his sisters Nevora Nush (Merced, CA) and Kay Nichols (Modesto, CA) and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews, and cousins. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Sam and Laura Brock and Dave and Jessie Covington; and his niece, Terri Costello McFarland.
A graveside service will be held for Joe on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Merced District Cemetery in Merced, California.
