Merced, California - John Duane Shaw, 74, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Merced, California.
Born on March 26, 1950, John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. His service reflected a deep commitment to duty and patriotism that remained a defining part of his life.
John was preceded in death by his father, Robert D. Shaw; his mother, Barbara Shaw; and his brother, Roger D. Shaw. He is remembered with love by his sister, Nancy L. (Shaw) Oehler; brother-in-law, Phillip G. Oehler; and nephew, Geoffrey P. Oehler.
A burial service with military honors will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, California. Attendees should arrive 30 minutes in advance of the service.
