Josephine "Jo" Marie Crass of Merced, California, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026 at the age of 80. She was born on November 5, 1945 to Joseph and Marie Domant in Lucerne, Pennsylvania. Being a child of an Air Force Senior Master Sargant, Jo traveled quite a bit growing up and came to Atwater for her senior year of high school. After attending Merced College, she married Michael Crass in 1966, and together they shared 60 wonderful years. Jo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, hosting/attending tea parties and was known for working with various church groups. She is survived by her husband, Michael, her sister Toni and brother Dick, her three children Cheley (Jake), Julianne (Costa), Steve (Shannon), her nine grandchildren Chandler (Angelica), Chloe, Charles, Caden, Rowan, Jackson, Tessa, Emma, Addy; her great grandchild Natalia. Visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on April 9, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at Yosemite Church on April 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Reception following at the Hooper House.
