Laura Daniel

Laura Elizabeth (Lorrie) Daniel passed away peacefully on January 6, 2013 at the age of 93. Laura was born in Granaglione, Balogna, Italy on September 8, 1919 to Emilcare and Amilia Brizzi. She immigrated to Gonzales, CA in 1925 and eventually settled in Merced, CA working for the U.S. Post Office and the Merced Theater before meeting and marrying Rassiea Milburn (Jack) Daniel. She and Jack had two sons, Andy and Marty.

Laura’s greatest joy was her family. She loved cooking, baking, crocheting, bowling and getting together with friends and family. She was outgoing and outspoken but was always there when someone needed her. She will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Laura is survived by her sons, Andy Daniel (Karen) and Marty Daniel of Merced; her grandchildren who called her Noni, Jeffrey Daniel and Stephen Daniel of Merced, Bradley Daniel (Jennifer) and Tracy McKnight (Robert) of Atwater; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Adriana Martignoni of Merced; as well as her extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank her doctors, nurses, and the staff of Hy-lond Health Care Center, Mercy Medical Center, and Bristol Hospice for their loving support and care.

Services will be private.
