Leo Johnson proudly served his country during the Korean War. He served in the US Navy for 4 years, while being stationed out of Guam. Leo met the love of his life Ann Nell while on leave from the Navy visiting his mother in the hospital. Ann was his mother’s nurse, they fell in love and married on December 11, 1954 and spent 45 wonderful years together. After serving his country Leo became employed with Boeing Aircrafts for 22 years.

He was a coach as well as a board member for the Merced Jr. Football and Merced City League Baseball teams. Leo enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader on his son’s troops. He was also an active member of the This Ain’t Your Mama’s Church.
Leo Johnson was a kind and loving husband, dad, granddad and friend to all. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. When his kids brought friends home, they immediately became part of the family. He carried on that tradition when his grandkids brought friends over.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Franciscan Convalescent Hospital and Bristol Hospice for taking care of Leo in such a kind and loving manner. We are so very grateful and appreciative for the services that were provided.
