Leonard Septien Rios

Leonard Septien Rios, 65, passed away on the evening of August 18, 2015, in Atwater, CA. He was born on September 20, 1949 in Merced. Leonard worked as the shipping and receiving manager at Sears for the Central Valley stores for 35 years. However, what really sparked Leonard’s interest was his passion for farming and involvement with 4-H, FFA, and the California Swine Industry.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Linda (Pinasco) Rios, of 42 years, his son, Allan Rios (wife Dana), grandson, Parker, mother, Seraphina Rios, sister, Donna Earley (husband Larry), Aunt Marilyn May, his niece, Jennifer Newman (husband Robert) and 3 nephews, Sean Earley (wife Andreé), Justin Pinasco (wife Jennifer), Matt Pinasco (wife Michelle), and 10 great nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Juan (John) Septien, grandmother, Mary Septien, and his father, Donald Rios.

The vigil service with rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 25th at 8:00 in the evening at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, 1490 B Street, Merced. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 10:00 in the morning. It will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 459 W. 21st, Merced.

There will be a reception to follow at Merced Golf and Country Club. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Leonard’s life.
