Lillian Lucille Padilla (Quaglia), peacefully passed away at her home on March 25, 2023, at the age of 91. Lily was born in Merced Falls, CA on December 4, 1931, and eventually settled in Merced, CA with her husband Charles who preceded her in death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her son Richard in 1996, and we’re sure they’re all happily reunited in heaven.
She was a hairdresser for over 50 years, until her retirement from Melissa's Hair and Nail Salon. In retirement, she enjoyed dancing at the Senior Center, spending time with her dogs, and making charitable donations to Table Mountain and Black Oak Casino.
Lillian was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church. She served in the Altar Society and would often participate in fundraising by baking goods, and preparing meals.
Some of our fondest memories with her include summer gatherings by the pool, watching her bowl strikes, and her family Christmas parties. She was often seen walking around her neighborhood and visiting with her neighbors. She had a gift of being able to hold conversations with any and everyone.
Lillian is survived by her daughters Elaine Padilla, Michele Marquez, and her 'adopted daughter' Yvonne Gonzales. She will be greatly missed by her grandsons Christopher Marquez, Stephen Marquez, and her granddaughter Alyssa Jaico. She was also great grandmother to Sophia, Lillian, Kyris, and Charlie Marquez. Lily is also survived by siblings Sally Blake, Gloria Quaglia, Johnny Quaglia, Robert 'Bob' Quaglia, and Anthony Galan.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bristol Hospice staff for their outstanding care for Lillian.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.stratfordevansfunerals.com for the Padilla family.
