Linda Frances Brower

Linda (Lindy) Frances Brower, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 17th, 2015. Born on September 1, 1951 in Great Lakes, Illinois she and her parents Walt and Gloria Palmer along with her sister Debbie, relocated to Catheys Valley when she was one. Lindy has been a resident of Catheys Valley ever since attending school there and going on to graduate from Mariposa County High School.

Lindy worked as a Jail Officer at the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Department for 22 years and retired in 2010. Since her retirement she has been very active in the community helping start the Hornitos 4-H club, she was the treasurer of the Hornitos Patrons club, supported the Merced Elks Lodge and helped wherever she was needed. Lindy loved spending time with her three grandchildren. She would always take them to their sporting events, 4-H club meetings, or just pick them up to spend quality grandma time with them. It was one of her favorite things to do! Lindy also loved the big family get together’s during the Holidays. She loved spoiling her grandkids and her dog Mhily.

Lindy was preceded in death by her parents Walt and Gloria Palmer, her brother Gary Palmer, her infant son Gary Brower, maternal grandparents Chet and Linda Guenthart, paternal grandparents Herbert and Frances Palmer and brother-in-law Fred Lester.

Lindy leaves behind her loving son, Heath Brower, his wife, Glenda Brower, and her grandchildren Dalton, Khily, and Khiera Brower. Her brother and his wife Walt (Sonny) and Annette Palmer, her sister Debbie Lester, and many nieces and nephews.

Lindy was greatly loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends. She has touched many lives. A graveside service will be held on Saturday January 31st, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Catheys Valley Cemetery. A reception at the Catheys Valley McKay Hall will follow.
