

Ludovica M. Davis passed away on June 1, 2013 at the age of 90. Affectionately known as Leddy to family and friends, she will be greatly missed. Leddy was born Ludovica Maria DiLonardo on July 26, 1922 in Guardia Sanframondi, Italy. She came to the U.S at the age of seven, and was raised in Hackensack, New Jersey by her parents, Carlo and Constance DiLonardo.
In 1945, she married Robert Henry Davis and had nine children over the next twenty years. Leddy moved with the family to California in 1962, eventually settling in Merced, CA in 1980. She will always be remembered as an incredibly giving and unselfish person, and the greatest Mom anyone could ask for.
Leddy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, John; sister, Margie; grandson, Joseph; and her parents, Carlo and Constance DiLonardo. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Linda (Tatum) Davis of Merced, CA, Carl and Elmarie Davis of Lancaster, CA, Ed and Karen Davis of Newbury Park, CA, Joe and Lori Davis of Utah; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Paul Abravaya of Thousand Oaks, CA; daughters, Mary Davis of Van Nuys CA and Anne Davis; son, Howard Davis; sister, Clorinda Campagna; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pasqualina and Paul Rossetti, and Shirley and Bob Cancellieri; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leddy resided at The Hampshire Independent Retirement Living facility for nearly six years. She enjoyed living there. She was assisted the last three years by Terrie’s TLC Senior Care at The Hampshire. The family would also like to thank Nicolas De La Pena, M.D., Maiya Thao, D.P.M., Rama Nandipati, M.D. and Suki Lesher, RN for the wonderful care provided. We also want to thank the staff at Hinds Hospice and Emeritus for their kind end of life care.
Recitation of Rosary will be held Friday, August 2nd at 6 PM and a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 3rd at 1 PM at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 617 E. Yosemite Ave., Merced, CA followed by a reception at the church hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Hinds Hospice of Merced, 410 W. Main St., Merced, CA 95340 or the charity of your choice.
