Mary Catherine Huish

February 26, 1954 – February 4, 2011

Mary Catherine Huish was born on February 26, 1954 in Albany GA. Mary passed suddenly, unexpectedly and peacefully on Friday, February 4, 2011. Born into a military family, she lived in many cities. She made friends quickly wherever she lived.

Mary was always an honor student. She is a graduate of Atwater High School, class of 1972. She also received and A.A. degree from Merced College and worked as a licensed daycare provider for over thirty years. She felt it provided her with great enjoyment while providing for her children, and then grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was her family and taking care of others. She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband, parents, children grandchildren other family members and many friends.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dr. James Huish, her parents William and Jean King of Atwater, CA, her eldest daughter, Michelle Lomax of San Jose, CA, her middle child Jennifer and her son in law Gabriel Martinez, of Las Vegas, NV, and her youngest Daughter Kimberly Lomax of Merced. Mary also has four grandchildren, Robert, Jiselle, Jaiden and Angelina.

Last, but not least, Mary is survived by two brothers, William King Jr. of Merced and Steve King of Atwater, CA; her sister is Carolyn Cook of Arkansas, her niece and nephew Donny Cook of AR and Amanda De Los Reyes of Atwater, her great nephews Dominic De Los Reyes and Dylan De Los Reyes, her aunt Mary Ann Thiel, uncle Al Cassady and Ralph Cassady and cousin Linda Robicheaux of OH, as well as other cousins of the OH area.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the same location. Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
