

Michael Legro Pressley sadly passed away on July 23rd, 2024 in Merced California surrounded by loved ones. Michael was born on July 6th, 1953 in Oakland California. He grew up in San Diego, and attended Patrick Henry High School, then Grossmont Junior College, where he was an avid swimmer. Michael (Mike) had an unwavering love of the outdoors. Even as a child he would often be gone for hours in the canyon near his childhood home looking for, and sometimes bringing home, wild animals.
As a young adult, Mike fully embraced the carefree lifestyle of the 60’s and 70’s. He was unfortunately in an auto accident in his early twenties that left him a paraplegic. It was after that when he became a farmer. Joining his family in farming almonds in the Central Valley of California. He spent most of his farming career managing thousands of acres spanning from Bakersfield to Afton. His circumstances never slowed Mike down. His ability to adapt and overcome to any situation was both incredible and inspiring. Never one to be shown up, Mike farmed is own orchard for many years. His work ethic was unparalleled as well as his resolve to conquer and accomplish anything he wanted to do. His love of horses was great. Mike was an enthusiastic Quarter Horse breeder all of his adult life.
Throughout his life, Mike made many close friends. He was always there to give advice or lend a helping hand. Forever a free spirit, he was always quick with a joke, or a colorful remark. Mike is survived by his brother Scott, sister Susie, daughter Jessica and grandchildren Layla, Twyla and Dillon. Private family service to follow.
