Ramon Vallejo, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2018. Ramon was born in San Agustin, Jalisco, Mexico, on February 25, 1943 to Miguel and Margarita Vallejo. He immigrated to the United States with his father and siblings at the age of 16, and was a resident of Le Grand for almost 60 years.
Upon settling in the area, Ramon began to work for Bright’s Nursery, where he was employed for over 40 years, and eventually became a Ranch Foreman. Ramon was known as a hard-working man with a kind heart. Many times, men in his crew would run short of money, and Ramon would dig down deep in his own pocket and make them a loan until payday.
Ramon’s children and grandchildren were his pride & joy, and they were always a priority for him. He was a loving father and grandfather who was always willing to help, and he will be greatly missed. Ramon is survived by his two sons, Ramon Vallejo and Miguel Vallejo; two daughters, Sonia Vallejo & her partner Jesus Melendez and Margarita Vallejo; grandchildren, John Raul Ruiz & his partner Alyssa Garcia, Ethan Rodriguez, Mia Rodriguez, and Jessie Melendez; great-grandchildren, Emily Skye, Melanie Raye, John Kayden, and Adalynn Ruiz; his sisters, Estella, Velia, Marisela, and Alicia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Margarita, and his brothers, Rigoberto, Daniel, and Raul; whom he joined at peace and with a happy heart.
Ramon enjoyed traveling to Mexico and his daily trips on The Bus to go hang out at the Mall with friends. He was a kind and generous man, who was always willing to help anyone in need. Ramon liked to dress well, and throughout the years, he became a familiar sight at the bus stop and at the mall, especially in his suits and cowboy hat. Ramon made a friend anywhere he went and he will greatly missed.
