

At 5 years of age he attended St. Peter and Paul’s Kindergarten School on Filbert Street.
He was 6 years old in 1927 when the family moved to Atwater. Mom and dad, brother, Ted and sister, Marie Larrise. They settled on a ranch on old 99 highway south of Atwater, which is now an industrial center. His sister Suzanne was born in 1928 in Atwater. Ross attended Mitchell Grammar School and Merced Union High School. He was active in sports at both schools and was Varsity Catcher in baseball at Merced Union High School. He graduated in 1939 and went on to Modesto Junior College for 2 years. From there he went to U.C. in Berkeley to study Law. He later went to work for PG&E.
In 1942 he married Lila Jane Patton, the love of his life. She passed away on February 25, 2008. They were married 66 years. They had 2 children, Charlotte Moschitto Sakamoto born on 11/11/1943 and Ross Allen Moschitto who was born on 2/15/1945.
Ross worked at many different jobs and careers after returning to Atwater. He farmed with his father on his own ranches in Buhach and then on his own ranch on East Yosemite Ave. He was also in Real Estate with Anthony Souza and later on his own as Home Reality.
He was always active in baseball. Semi-pro in Bay area when at Berkeley and later in Atwater. He was active in Pony and Little League in Atwater with his son, Ross Allen who was also active in baseball at Atwater High School and Fresno City College. Ross Allen was later signed by the New York Yankees.
Ross was equality proud of both his son and daughter. Son a professional baseball player and daughter a Corporation Accountant for Pac Bell and AT&T.
Ross was preceded in death by his wife, Lila; brother, Theodore (Ted) Moschitto; and parents, Santo and Marie Moschitto.
He is survived by his son, Ross Allen Moschitto of Port St. Lucie, FL; daughter, Charlotte Sakamoto of Gardnerville, NV; sisters, Marie Louise Moschitto and Suzanne Fazio of Merced; sister-in-law, Alice Moschitto of Merced; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 7 nieces and nephews.
He will be interned next to his beloved wife, Lila at Merced District Cemetery.
A memorial service is yet to be scheduled.
