Shawn Hoopaugh was born October 6, 1958 to SMSgt. George (Red) F. Hoopaugh and Catherine (Kay) B. Hoopaugh while the longtime residents of Atwater California were stationed in Germany. Shawn passed away Thursday October 4, 2018 at the age of 59 in Atwater California.
PFC Shawn Hoopaugh served his country in the United States Army. After completion of his service he returned home to Atwater where he worked driving 18 wheelers for the Gallo Winery, laying custom tile and lastly as an HVAC technician. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to spend time camping and fishing.
Shawn is survived by his son Quentin L. Hoopaugh of South Carolina and his siblings Michael D. Hoopaugh, Georgana M. Hoopaugh and John D. Hoopaugh of South Carolina, and James (Rod) R. Hoopaugh of Merced California. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Catherine Hoopaugh, and his siblings Keith W. Hoopaugh and Catherine E. Hoopaugh.
A graveside service will be held on November 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Winton District Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the company of his beloved parents and brother. Funeral services are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, Merced, California.
