Tom was born to James and Philomena Zigerelli in Beaver Falls, PA. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 17 and proudly served his country from 1951-59. During his service at Castle Air Force Base is when he met the love of his life, Shirley Benson. They were able to enjoy 53 memorable years of marriage.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; son, John; granddaughter, Brittany; and brother, Robert.
He is survived by his children: Gina (George) Henri; Mark (Sylvia) Zigerelli; Diana (Joe) Funk; and Karen (Sanford) Hoffman; sister, Sandy Vorous; grandchildren, Matthew, Athena, Alissa, Emily, Tasha and Shane: great grandchildren, Makaio, Azlyn, Harper, Mason, Logan and Helen. Friends and family are welcomed to join Tom’s four children in celebrating their father’s life on January 11, 2018 at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home, located at 1490 B Street, Merced, California, at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will be private.
