Services for George E. Rasberry, will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. John Jenkins and Maxine Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Sageville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Rasberry, age 92, of Meridian, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at his residence in Meridian.

He served his country in the U S Army and was a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Charlotte Creekmore and her husband, E. L. “Pete” of Columbus, and Leisa Creel and her husband, Rickey of Alabaster, AL; 3 grandchildren, Jonathan Creekmore and his wife, Ashley of Madison, AL, Erin Norman and her husband, Tim of North Las Vegas, NV, and David Creel and his wife, Megan of Meridian; 3 great grandchildren, Jacob Alexander Norman, Shelby Claire Norman, and Emily Nicole Creekmore; a special friend and caregiver, Dorothy Burkes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rasberry was preceded in death by his wives, Ouida Davis Rasberry and Anna Kate Pittman Rasberry.

Pallbearers will be David Creel, Jonathan Creekmore, Wayne Chapman, Jere Skelton, Joe R. Price, and Joey Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe H. Bates, Wren Chapman, and Gene Alling.

Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24th, at the funeral home.
