Leland Curtis "Rick" Mauldin II

Services for Leland Curtis “Rick” Mauldin were held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church Collinsville with Rev. Hal J. Bates officiating. Burial will be in First Baptist Church Collinsville Cemetery with Stephens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mauldin, 67, of Collinsville, died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at his residence.

Known as Mr. Rick to the children at FBC Collinsville where he was a member and taught Sunday school and Bible School for many years. He worked maintenance at FBC Collinsville. He was a retired insurance agent. He worked at the Meridian Star. Known as Coach Mauldin to the children he coached in Jaycee Youth Football, West Lauderdale Youth Football and baseball at Phil Hardin Park. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, camping and boating.

He is survived by his wife Sallie Dawkins Mauldin; son: Ricky Mauldin (Renee); daughter: Jennifer Mauldin Mayatt (David); Grand children: Blake Mauldin, Bailey Mayatt, Jace Mauldin, and Morgan Mayatt; 5 step grand children; and 3 step great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Leland and Jacquelyn Mauldin; Siblings: Baby Mauldin and Kevin Stewart Mauldin; son: Leland Curtis Mauldin Jr.

Pallbearers were Blake Mauldin, Bailey Mayatt, Jace Mauldin, Spencer Brewer, and Spencer Dickerson and David Mayatt.

Visitation was held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 PM at FBC Collinsville.
