

Carolyn Stephens Bradley of Merritt Island, Florida entered into heaven on January 14, 2025. She was 89 years old. Carolyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Cape Canaveral Hospital.
Carolyn was born in Panama City, Florida, November 29, 1935 to Gus and Ruth Stephens. She graduated from Bay County High School in 1953. She attended Florida State University and graduated in 1956 with a degree in Education. She received her Masters Degree from University of Central Florida. Carolyn was a member of Alpha Delta Pi social sorority at FSU. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher’s Sorority, and National Professional Women. She taught at Jenks Junior High in Panama City for one year before marrying and moving to Alachua County. She taught sixth grade for five years and then moved to Brevard County where she taught for 35 years and retired in 1995. After retirement she was asked to teach at Merritt Island Christian School and retired a second time in May, 2009. Carolyn taught for a total of 49 years. She was loved by her students, parents, and teachers and she dearly loved them. She was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Merritt Island where she was a member since 1976. She was honored to be a teller, volunteered with the Mission Center and at the APC. She loved singing in the choir. Carolyn lived her life in a caring and loving way always wanting to please God. She will be missed by the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; one daughter, Beth Melton (David) of Huntsville, Alabama; two stepchildren, Cindi Rogers (Steve) of Rockledge, Florida, and Richard Bradley Jr. (Gina) of Cocoa Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Carrie Dubberly (Jesse) of Acworth, Georgia, Robert Melton of Huntsville, Alabama, Renae Hetzer (Brian) of Melrose, Florida, Savannah Bradley of Wollongong, Australia, and Mekenzie Graham (Tre’) of Portsmouth, Virginia; five great grandchildren, Langham, Elizabeth, and Ansley Dubberly of Acworth, Georgia, Jaiden Melton of Huntsville, Alabama, and Townes Hetzer of Melrose, Florida.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at First Baptist Church Merritt Island, Florida on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. in the main sanctuary. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Merritt Island Christian School or First Baptist Church Merritt Island, Florida or any charity of your choice. Graveside services and burial will be held in Panama City, Florida.
