Connie L. Dobrin was taken into the loving arms of the Lord on the 27th of November after a short bout with Pneumonia. Connie was born on January 5, 1946 in Van Wert, Ohio to Corwin and Lucille Lytle. After finishing high school (where she was a member of the National Honor Society), she worked in California for several years before moving to Florida in 1973. In 1977, Connie began a 30 year career with NASA at the Kennedy Space Center.
In 1980, she met her husband Mike and over the years, they cruised through the Caribbean and traveled in Europe and the Pacific on multiple occasions. Connie also found the time to complete her Bachelor’s degree at Barry University and her Master’s degree in Business at Webster University. Connie also served as a Director on various Boards - with the Federally Employed Women of the Space Coast, the League of Women Voters, the NASA Alumni League and Cocoa Main Street. She worked as a volunteer with the State Attorney’s office as a victims advocate for sexual assault victims and in 2011 was named Volunteer of the year by the State Attorney’s Office for the 18th Judicial Circuit. Her hobbies included travel, dancing, shopping, volunteering with numerous groups and meeting new people. A lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, she served in various leadership positions at Grace UMC in Merritt Island.
Connie leaves behind her husband Mike, her son Greg, her stepson JP, two grandsons (Donovan and Kegan), her brother and sister-in-law (Larry and Louise) and her two loving cats – Emma and Sandy. She loved life and will be missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration Of Life will be on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Grace United Methodist Church, Merritt Island, FL.
