

Lucille was born December 22, 1952 in Rockledge, Florida to Cecil and Janette Bishop. She grew up in Cocoa, Florida. After graduating from Cocoa High school she got married, moved south to Henry County, Florida and began her family. She started working as a school bus driver in the winter, and a seasonal fruit picker in the summer. She also did part time work on the Big Cypress Reservation in the Head Start program. She later returned to Cocoa and continued driving the school bus while taking a vocational class at BCC and receiving a certification in welding. She then went on to try her hand in electronics at Harris Corporation. But it wasn't until she relocated to the Carolinas that she found what she truly wanted to do. For the next 20 years, she was a dedicated truck driver. Returning once again to Cocoa to be closer to her family. She continued her trucking. career and eventually retired at the age of 67. A true inspiration to others. She spent the rest of her years making memories with her children enjoying her grandchildren and caring for her animals. Lucille will be remembered as a strong hard-working independent woman. A warm and loving mother. And a kind and giving friend. She will always be loved and forever missed.
She is survived by her two daughters Rebecca and Billie Horne. Two grandsons and three granddaughters.
A private service will be held in South Carolina. The family will later reach out with details for a celebration of life.
Lucille's final resting place will be in the mausoleum, niche 6g at Brevard Memorial Park, 320 Spring St. Cocoa, FL near her mother.
