Jane loved God and her family. She was an artist, a home chef, a traveler, and a handy woman.
She was a believer in dessert. She was witty, often sharing her humor in her annual Christmas
letter. Over the years she compiled elaborate memory books for her children and grandchildren
that they treasure.
A native of Nebraska, Jane was a graduate of Mary Lanning School of Nursing. As a young nurse, she met and married Richard Davidson of Birmingham, Alabama. The two set off as a military family, living in Florida, Virginia, and Ohio. They retired to the Space Coast where they made their permanent home for nearly 40 years.
Jane and Richard were avid campers, driving their motor home throughout the United States
and Canada including several trips to Alaska.
She is survived by her children Rick Davidson (Vanessa), Jim Davidson (Sybil), and Anne
Comaux (Tony), grandchildren, sisters and brothers, beloved family Warren and Paula
Summrall, nieces and nephews, and extended family.
Her family extends thanks to the staff of Discovery Village Melbourne for their care for Jane in
her final years.
Family and friends will be received at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home (1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island) for a celebration of Jane’s life on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 2 pm. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery to take place at a later date.
