Joan Sealander

Joan Helen McClintock Sealander, 87 of Merritt Island, Florida went to be with Lord on December 12, 2014. She was born in Long Island, New York. When she was a child her family made many moves from New York to California to Atlanta and finally Miami where she met and married David her husband of 55 years. In 1964 the family moved to Merritt Island, FL. where Joan worked with the Girl Scouts, the Red Cross, Parliamentary Law and community activities. She is survived by her three children; Karen Ann Sealander, sons David Douglas Sealander (Sheila) and Carl Edward Sealander (Karol), four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters-in-law; Gertrude Ogren, Gail Sealander, cousins; Lois Ward, Kent Christie, and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home on December 18th at 12 noon, with a viewing one hour prior. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell on December 19th. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Citrus Council of Girl Scouts or Weustoff Hospice or charity of your choice.
