
Born on January 6, 1938, in Alamosa, Colorado, he spent his childhood and early years in Colorado, graduating high school before entering the United States Navy. After high school, Larry proudly served his country for 10 years in the U.S. Navy. During his service, he was stationed aboard the nuclear submarine U.S.S. Triton which made history as the first to complete a submerged circumnavigation of the globe. He carried those memories with pride for the rest of his life.
Following his military service, Larry joined General Dynamics Corporation in Cape Canaveral; a leading aerospace and defense company, where he built a long and respected career before retiring. He called Cocoa, Florida, home for over 50 years.
Larner was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel Larner Cotton and Helen Marie (Patten) Cotton. He is survived by his five children: Carlynn Cotton Angel, Keith A. Cotton, Patricia Ruberto, Kathy Martinez, and Sharon Walsh-Clark. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He will be remembered for his dedication, his service to his country, and love for his family.
