Pete was born in Michigan City Ind. on January 31, 1942.
He attended Elston High School. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy. Where he served as a Radioman 2nd Class Petty officer until His brother Charles Louis Peterman was kill and he returned home to comfort his family.
He was married to Mary Sue Peterman for 51 years. They had 3 children Charlotte Ball of Chattanooga TN., Charles Peterman of Dade city Florida and Christa Peterman of New Buffalo, Michigan. He leaves behind 7 grandchildren. Christopher Peterman, Michaela Ball, Aiden Peterman, Alissa Peterman, Madison and Corey Peterman, and lastly Austin Peterman, with whom he loved all.
Pete was known for his impeccable work ethic by his family. He retired from Raymond-Brown & Root. As well as retiring from Forest Lawn Landfill in Three Oaks, Michigan. Where they literally had to close down before he would retire. Pete always worked a job with his whole heart. The only time we the family can remember him ever taking a day off was when his his sister Geri Shubert pass away. Pete currently worked at The Mooring, so long that nobody in the family can remember when he actually started. His family knew he would never retire from there. The Mooring’s was a work family that gave him so much joy motivation to continue every season. It encompasses many things he loved. He loved sunset walks down all the Peninsulas and welcoming all the boaters back every season. Even at 80 years old Pete was proud of the fact that he could remember most of boaters pet names and their boat names. When the season would end he would retreat from the New Buffalo winters with Sue to their own private sunny Shangri-La, in Cocoa, Fl.
Pete was struggling to overcome cancer and just when we all felt like he his cancer journey was finished he unexpectedly, went to be with Jesus His Lord and Savior. This came as a shock to Sue and the whole family. He was ready to return to The Mooring for another season. A comment he made just days prior to his departure.
