Nicholas is also survived by his brother, Richard (Genevieve Pandolf).
Nick's passion for innovation and learning began early. He started his career in the space program at Grumman, working on the lunar module. At the age of 17, he joined the Air Force and dedicated 23 years of his life to serving in the Strategic Air Command, working on various rocket projects. While in the Air Force, he continued his education, attending colleges at each base where he was stationed and ultimately earning numerous degrees. Afterward, he spent another 24 years contributing to the space program, particularly with the Space Shuttle program.
In addition to his work in the space program, Nick was a man of many talents. He had a deep love for cooking and worked in numerous restaurants throughout his life. He also served as a policeman and volunteered with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association. For the last 14 years, Nick's "job" was as a volunteer at the Pass and ID office at Patrick Space Force Base, where he greeted and connected with everyone who walked through the door. He loved hearing people's life stories while sharing his own remarkable journey.
Nick was an avid traveler, often crossing the country by car to visit national parks and monuments, and enjoyed cruising throughout the Caribbean.
Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his friends and family. He cherished cooking large family meals, helping others in any way he could, and simply enjoying life's precious moments.
Nick was beloved by all who knew him. He considered everyone he met a friend, and his kindness, warmth, and generosity left a lasting impact on those around him.
He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
