

Born and raised by Frank and Helen Herrmann in Queens N.Y., Robert was truly the life of the party.
Robert loved spending time fishing and boating with his late wife, Suzanne "Sam" Applequist Herrmann, she was the love of his life. They were inseparable and shared 25 wonderful years together.
He was a graduate of Farmingdale, NY College with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Robert served six years in the United States Army stationed in Germany where he met his first wife. He went on to work for Northrop Grumman, Bethpage NY and then onto Lockheed Martin, Cape Canaveral Florida where he was part of the space program. This included NASA'S APOLLO 11 engineers’ team which marked a pivotal moment on July 20th, 1969, that landed successfully on the moon.
Robert is survived by his first wife Christine Herrmann, his children and grandchildren, in addition to his beloved Mother-in-law Annette Applequist.
Roberts larger-than-life presence, humor, and love for his family will never be forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Private Memorial Mass will be held at Saints Cyril Methodius Catholic Church in Deer Park NY.
