Robert E. Strzelewicz

He leaves his beloved wife of 62 years, Margaret (Messing) Strzelewicz, his children Susan Cote and husband Robert of West Brookfield, MA, John Strzelewicz of Palm Bay, FL, Mary LaBrie of Palm Bay, FL and Michael Strzelewicz and wife Gale of Oxford, MA along with 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Strzelewicz.

Bob was born in Webster, MA, son of the late Edward and Bernice (Malkowski) Strzelewicz. A graduate of Oxford High School, Oxford, MA, Bob then served his country in the United States Air Force, having been honorably discharged in April, 1963. He was a graduate of Worcester Junior College, Worcester, MA and later received his bachelor’s degree from Nichols College, Dudley, MA.

Bob worked for Wyman Gordons for 40 years as a Credit Manager from which he retired from in 1995. He was a member of Singletary Rod & Gun Club of Sutton, MA. He served as a member of the Planning Board for the town of Oxford in the 1970s.

Reflecting in time with the marriage of Bob and Peggy on June 16,1962 in Houston, TX. Then driving to reside in Oxford, MA where they built the foundation of their lives filled with family and friends. Bob enjoyed puttering around the home they built, the family vacations to Florida, North Carolina and many travel adventures throughout the country and world. He enjoyed weekends at the camp on Sugden Reservoir in Spencer, MA, along with numerous hunting and fishing trips. Bob and Peggy’s final retirement in Merritt Island, FL where they enjoyed cruising the canals from their backyard.

A celebration of life for Bob will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953. Following the celebration of life will be a committal service from 2:00pm to 2:30pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Hwy 1, Mims, FL 32754.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart Association or Cancer Society may be made.
