Rose Ann Miller, a devoted mother, nana, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2024, at the age of 91. She was born on December 8, 1932, on a farm in Ontario, Oregon, the daughter of proud Irish immigrants, with whom she shared her childhood alongside three sisters and three brothers.
Rose’s life was deeply rooted in faith. At the age of 15, she entered the convent, and at 21 she bravely joined the army, a journey she embarked on with her twin sisters. It was during her time in the army and while stationed at the Presidio that she met her husband, with whom she had two children. Though their paths diverged many years ago, Rose remained dedicated to her family and her faith.
Throughout her life, Rose’s adventurous spirit led her to call many places home, including Ontario, New Mexico, San Francisco, Boise, Seattle, Chicago, Miami, and finally Melbourne, Florida. In each place, she embraced the community and enriched the lives of those around her with her infectious spirit, unwavering kindness, and deep faith.
Rose was a devout Catholic, and her dedication to her faith was evident in her involvement with Ascension Catholic Church, where she served as a scripture reader, choir singer, and devoted parishioner for over 25 years. Her presence and contributions to the church community were deeply cherished and will be greatly missed.
Rose leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, survived by her loving children, Kathy Teresi and Donald Miller, as well as her four grandchildren, Stephanie, Amanda, Kyle, and Michael, and great-grandchild, Riley. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields,
and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Rest in peace, Rose.
