Alan Kraig Jorgensen passed away June 9, 2014 in Apache Junction, Arizona at age 62. He was born in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Bellevue, Washington at age 4 with his parents when his father accepted work there. He lived there in his formative years until he joined the Navy and served with great pride. Most of his time in the Navy was served aboard the Ballistic Missile Submarine SSBM-611, John Marshall, as a nuclear power operator.
He returned to Washington state after his military service and attended Bellevue College and then worked in the nuclear power field at many locations. In recent years he had a private advertising business that he retired from in 2010.
He was an active member of the American Legion and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survived by his father Gordon L. Jorgensen, brothers Aaron and Gordon W. (Corky) Jorgensen, nieces Amy Dewitt and Cara Jorgensen, grand niece Addy Skalisky, grand nephew Henry Jorgensen, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins too numerous to list as his mother Joyce Johnson Jorgensen had 15 siblings. She passed away in 2011.
Interment services will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on March 12, 2015.
