Alice Sarah Wolf

Alice was raised in the Epping, ND area and graduated from Epping High School in 1937.

Graduated from Minot State Teachers College in 1940 with a two year degree and taught in a rural school near Epping-Williston, ND.

Alice married Anton (Tony) Joseph Wolf, Oct. 1940 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot, ND. Together they lived in Minot raising five children: sons Ken (Ruth) Wolf of Cheyenne, WY; Clinton (Linda, deceased) Wolf of Minot, ND; Ray (Pat) Wolf of Sacramento, CA and Michael (Karen) Wolf of Moorhead, MN; and daughter Rita (Dave) Hovde of Mesa, AZ.

Alice was employed in Minot by Harry’s Viariety, H&H Variety and Sears. She and Tony moved to Denver, CO in 1968 where she was employed by K-Mart before retiring. Alice and Tony moved to Sacramento in 1983.

Alice loved to bowl, bake and take on sewing projects. She also enjoyed planting and nurturing her flower garden. She became a widow in 1986 and moved to Tempe, AZ in 1988. She was active in Tempe Resurrection Catholic Church, taking part in the Madonna Circle, Road Runners and sponsor for RCIA. Attended activities at Pyle and Escalante Senior Centers. She also was a volunteer at the Gift Shop in the Tempe Library, along with sending birthday cards for Hovde Insurance. She always made time to attend grandchildren’s events and family affairs and gatherings.

Alice is survived by her 5 children, and one sister Betty Ann Rivinius of Porterville, CA; 12 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 11 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Jack and sister Patricia, her husband of 46 years and grandson Kerry Wolf and daughters-in-law Kathy Wolf and Linda Wolf.

In lieu of flowers feel free to make a donation to either the Arthritis Foundation, Wounded Warriors or Resurrection Catholic Community Church in Tempe, AZ.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 15th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm with funeral services starting at 7:00pm at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa, AZ 85202.
