Amie Waldemer passed away Thursday, April 17. 2026 at HonorHealth Four Peaks Medical Center surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, warmth, and authenticity that touched everyone who knew her.
Amie devoted much of her life to education, both as a student and as a professional. She earned her Associate of Arts in 2002, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing in 2005, and a Master of Business Administration in 2010. She later pursued her Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Development, achieving ABD status in 2019. Her passion for education extended beyond her own achievements, she cared deeply about improving educational systems and advocating for meaningful change within administration.
Her professional journey reflected that commitment. Amie served as Associate Director of Admissions at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences from 1997 to 2007. She then continued her impactful career at A.T. Still University (ATSU), where she worked as Director of Online Admissions from 2008 to 2025. Through her work, she helped guide countless students toward their educational goals.
Amie was a proud member of the National Association of Graduate Admissions, Pi Sigma Epsilon, and the American Management Association.
Beyond her professional life, Amie found joy in simple pleasures. She loved word searches and picture puzzles, getting lost in a good book, and watching documentaries, murder mysteries, and romantic comedies. While she often joked that she wasn’t much of a world traveler, she happily returned to Las Vegas whenever she could. Music brought her special joy—especially her favorite 80s butt rocker hair bands, often singing along to music videos.
Amie’s personality was unforgettable. She had a contagious smile and never hesitated to be a little goofy for the sake of making others laugh. Fiercely independent and unafraid to speak her mind, she was also deeply loyal, once you were her friend, you were a friend for life. She was an avid advocate for animals, especially her beloved cats.
Above all, Amie cherished time with her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Shaun Waldemer of Mesa, Arizona; her daughter, Kaia Waldemer of Mesa, Arizona; her mother, Pam Muenchow of Fountain Hills, Arizona; her brothers, Tim (Stephanie) Ewing of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Douglas Ewing of Keokuk, Iowa; her nephews, Brian and Brandon Ewing; her in-laws, Calvin and Nancy Waldemer of Denison, Iowa; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joshua (Megan) Waldemer of Harlan, Iowa; and her niece and nephew, Christian Waldemer and Sarah Reddick.
She was preceded in death by her father, Doug Ewing, and stepfather Wayne Muenchow.
Amie will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her compassion, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
