Andrew "Andy" Joseph Matic, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, with his beloved wife, Patti, by his side. Though his time here ended too soon, the stories, laughter, and love he shared will remain with us forever.
A proud United States Navy veteran, Andy served his country with honor and carried that same sense of duty, integrity, and quiet strength throughout his life. His service shaped him, and he often reflected on those years with gratitude, pride, and a few good sea stories.
Born with a strong spirit and an even bigger heart, Andy lived life on his own terms. He found joy in the simple things: a quiet morning on the water with a fishing pole in hand, the freedom of an open road while trucking or just taking a long drive, and the comfort of a little solitude to recharge his soul. His faithful Shih Tzu, Buddy, was never far from his side, offering constant companionship and unconditional love.
A man of many passions, Andy loved the thrill of a good poker game, the kind where the cards mattered almost as much as the company at the table. He cheered loudly—and sometimes colorfully—for Ohio State football, rarely missing a chance to root for his Buckeyes. Music was another steady companion; whether it was the raw, soulful pickin’ of Billy Strings or the timeless voice of Bob Seger, he always felt at home with a good song playing.
Above all, Andy adored his family. His kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and extended family brought him immeasurable pride. His love for them was steady, deep, and unwavering. And at the center of his world was his wife, Patti, his partner in every sense. Their bond was built on devotion, humor, and the quiet certainty that they were meant to walk through life together.
Andy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and authenticity. He taught us to appreciate the little moments, to work hard, to love fiercely, and to never pass up a chance for a good story or a good laugh.
He will be missed beyond measure and remembered with full hearts.
May he rest in peace and may those who loved him carry his memory forward with the same warmth and grit that defined his life.
