After completing high school in Cleveland, the Second World War changed the country and Angela went to work manufacturing war materiel. She was our “Rosie the Riveter”. During that time she married Edward and had two children. Angela and Edward became self-employed entrepreneurs opening a grocery/delicatessen that sustained them until they retired, moving from Cleveland to Phoenix, Arizona. She was very active in the Polish American Business Association during their business years.
Angela is survived by her son Edward D. Szmuc, M.D. and daughter Lenore Taffel. She has seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 4th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with the Rosary at 7:00pm at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd., Mesa, AZ.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 5th at 10:30am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 E. Libra Dr., Tempe, AZ.
