Antonio Bernardo Ferreira was born on May 25, 1933 and peacefully passed away on July 17, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 59 years, Theresa Ferreira and children Regina Santos (Euclides), Susan Ferreira, Antonio Ferreira (Cheryl), Theresa Gipson (Michael), Olinda Massey (Ray), Jack Ferreira , 13 grandchilden, and will be missed greatly by his brother Jose Ferreira and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Maria do Carmo Ferreira Ribau.
He was born in Portugal, lived in Brazil and then immigrated to the United States in the 1950s with very humble beginnings. He became a U.S. citizen in New York, New York and went on to become a successful businessman there. He moved to Mesa, Arizona in 1975 with his family and continued his business success. He was always a hardworking patriotic individual and believed you could be anyone you wanted to be in this country. He was deeply religious and passed with a rosary in his hand. He had a passion for country music. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather (Poppie, Avô), always there for and cherishing his family. He was a kind soul. In his lifetime he assisted many people and was always willing to lend a hand. He could make friends with anyone and was adored and respected by many people. He will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Mariposa Gardens; 400 S. Power Rd. Mesa, AZ from 3-7pm on Thursday, July 22. A Funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church; 1534 N. Recker Rd. Mesa, AZ at 10am on Friday, July 23, 2021. Antonio will be laid to rest on July 23, 2021 at 1pm at Queen of Heaven Cemetery; 1562 E. Baseline Rd. Mesa, AZ.
