Barry Duane Smith

Barry Duane Smith, 82, of Mesa, AZ passed away March 21, 2021. He was born March 23,1939 in Knox, PA to Charles Albert and Katherine Beulah [Hook] Smith and grew up in Newcastle, PA. Barry proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 23 years. He served in many different countries, as a weapons maintenance technician with the 48th Munitions Maintenance Squadron. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, was an avid golfer and enjoyed fixing and making things, working around the house and always put his family’s needs before his own. Barry also worked in Las Vegas as a slot technician for Sam’s Town. He was introduced to Delores Falls by his sister Susan, who thought the they would be a match made in heaven; Delores who worked for the same company Barry but at different casino at a California Hotel. The two were later married on December 31, 1992 in Las Vegas. Barry is survived by his loving wife, Delores Smith; two children, Michael (Karen) Smith and Kelly (Frank) Vintz; two step children, Hugh (Nancy) Falls and Lori (Mike) Dunlap; seven siblings, Marylou, Donna, Dorothy, Susan, Leroy, Bruce, Betty and Theodore as well as his eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Katherine and his sister, Joyce.
