Bernardo Tovar, 93, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of January 10, 2012 in Tempe, AZ. Bernardo was born on August 20, 1918 in Terlingua, TX to Rosenda Gonzalez and Antonio Tovar. Bernardo was a retired miner with Kennecott Copper Co. where he also worked as a pipe fitter.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Z. Tovar and grandchildren Donna M. and Michael A. Fernandez II. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sara M., son Raymundo Tovar and daughter Alice T. Urquieta, along with 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren. He was a big part of all our lives and will truly be missed by all. “Ho, Ho, Ho, Tata”.
Visitation will be Tues., Jan. 17, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm with a 7pm Rosary at Lakeshore Mortuary, 1815 S. Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am, Wed.
